Intro
We have some exciting news for you! We’re implementing significant changes to our site that introduce a more dynamic tipping service. Say goodbye to Naps of the day and hello to Live Tips!
Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future
Neils Bohr, Danish physicist
Now, it’s unlikely Neils was talking about predicting the winner of the 15:30 at Kempton - quantum theory and atomic structure was more his thing - but the same holds true for predicting the outcome of horse races.
We’ve trained our Machine Learning (ML) models looking back over the past 20 years of horse racing results. When we tested our models we found an effective and profitable method of prediction, but when you’re testing against a result you have correct data at the point the race started - the going, the number of runners and the jockey on each entry for example. As we all know, though, these can all change through the day, up to the point the race starts. If we make predictions at a point in time an hour or so before a race starts, this results in a less effective prediction process, and is especially true for Naps of the day - all races need to be predicted for this, before the first race of the day starts.
Introducing Live Tips - The Game Changer
Enter our solution - “Live Tips”. By capturing data throughout the day, and asking the ML model to make a prediction just before each race, selections become more like the original tests - more effective and more profitable. When we say ‘just before each race’, don’t worry - we’re not talking 5 seconds - each prediction is done 5 minutes before and posted to our Patreon account leaving you with plenty of time to make your own decision. We also update each selection with the result for full transparency.
